Buying

Your buying journey
starts here.

Eight steps between you and the keys. Here's exactly what each one involves, who does what, and where Carrie earns her keep.

BEFORE YOU START

The market rewards people who are ready.

In the Pioneer Valley the right house doesn't sit and wait. The buyers who win aren't the ones who bid the most — they're the ones who are organized before they need to be.

That means a lender lined up, a search narrowed to neighborhoods you'd actually live in, and an agent who can get you through the door the day it lists. Carrie handles the second and third; step two below handles the first.

THE PROCESS

Eight steps to the keys.

Start your search

01

The first step in buying a new home is for us to identify the neighborhoods you want to live in. Save your favorite homes, then add them to a collection — where we can comment and collaborate.

Get pre-approved

02

Why should you get pre-approved? Simple — to determine what you can comfortably afford. It also allows us to move quickly when we find the right house. Carrie can introduce you to local lenders who actually pick up the phone on a Sunday.

Tour homes

03

Let's arrange to visit the homes you're most interested in, together and in person, to determine the best fit for you. Expect straight talk about what you're looking at — including the things the listing photos left out.

Make your offer

04

Once we've narrowed it down, Carrie builds an offer around your priorities — price, timing, contingencies, and the terms that matter more than price more often than people expect — then negotiates every line of it on your behalf.

Execute the contract

05

Accepted. From here Carrie keeps every deadline, disclosure, deposit and signature on track, and coordinates with your lender and attorney so nothing slips between now and the closing table.

Home inspection

06

A professional home inspection, which discloses vital information about a home, is a must before finalizing your purchase. Carrie will help you read the report for what genuinely matters and negotiate anything that should be the seller's problem.

07

Home insurance

Home insurance protects your new home and belongings from accidental damage. Your policy needs to be bound before closing — we'll make sure it's in place well ahead of the deadline.

08

Close

Final walkthrough, final signatures, keys in your hand. Carrie will tell you exactly what to bring, what to expect, and what to do in the first week in your new home.
